Beautiful Cape Town

Hi Year 6,

I thought you might enjoy viewing some more pictures from my South Africa trip (especially as this week was so busy that I didn't get to share them with you in class).

From Miss Seymour

The 5 Umpires - South African, English, Dutch, Italian and Me

Dinner at Mustang Spur on the first nights

My first game - South Africa vs. England

Dinner from lunch at Camps Bay ... how beautiful!

Shaking of hands for Game 1: South Africa vs. England

Anthems for Game 1

The beautiful "Boulder's Beach" - if you look closely, you should be able to see the penguin in the middle of the rock

On the way Boulder's Beach ... I couldn't believe how close the rail way was to the ocean!

Swimming with African Penguins

I took this photo out the car window ... doesn't quite show you what I wanted to show you but it'll do. The mountain is called Table Mountain ... and you can see the cloud hugging the mountain ... the locals call it the "cloud blanket" and the clouds roll of the edge ... AMAZING!

After swimming with the penguins we went for a drive to a different coast (can't remember the name of the town sorry lol) ... it was so windy there that most of the sand doesn't stay on the beach. You can see a heap of sand on the road!

Sunset at dinner ... gorgeous!

Lunch on another day on the harbour - lost track of lunches and days lol

Picture of the South African naval base from a lookout on the way home from Boulder's Beach ... we actually found the lookout only because we got lost

Another sunset picture from dinner

One of my yummy seafood lunches!

On the Red City Sightseeing Hop-on Hop-off Bus

Going up to Table Mountain in the Cable Car

Looking up the cables to where we were heading

Looking down at the cables we had just come up

Table Mountain isn't open when there is wind or cloud (which is most days lol) ... I was hoping the wind wasn't going to pick up while we were up there

Closer view of the top of the mountain from the Cable Car.

The amazing view from the top of Table Mountain

Me at the edge of Table Mountain

How clever am I taking a panoramic photo of the view at the top lol

On the rocks at the top of Table Mountain - "cheese"!!!

Posing on top of Table Mountain

Riding down in the Cable Car

Dinner on the last night - can you find me?

One of the rainy days :( I got saturated umpiring on this day. So cloudy, you can't even see the top of Table Mountain in the background.

Had to share this photo with you ... I laughed at the flat trees ... I reckon it is so windy in Cape Town that the wind takes the top off all the trees :P

The hockey pitch from side on

The hockey pitch with Table Mountain in the background - perfect blue sky

All of us with the view up from Camps Bay
